When you open the door the after the washing is done there is still detergent in the dispenser. The detergent door is open. We have not changed detergent (Cascade). The dish are not clean. What do you think is causing not all of the detgergent to dispense?

Most likely the dishwasher is not getting enough water or the wash pump is not working.
Open the door in the middle of the cycle and check the water level and see if the lower spray arm is spinning.
Post your findings.

The lower spray arm was not turning and the water was in the bottom of the washer. The top arm never seemed to move when I opened the washer it was always in the same place.

Did you hear the wash pump running during the wash cycle or it was just making a humming noise?
