My dishwasher is a Whirlpool Model GU1500XTLQ1. I is about 6 years old. It works good but makes a high pitch sound. I was told by the service technician that the motor is bad. I am planning to replace the motor myself. Can you walk me through on how to remove the motor?:)

Be sure to remove power from the unit.
A turkey baster come is handy to suck up any water.
A tray under the unit will help keep it off the floor, just undo things slowly so that if the tray fills you can tighten and empty the tray.
Be sure to clean any seal surfaces.
I also like to put a very light coating of lithium grease on seals, it just seems to make things go back together easier.
