I haven't purchased the fridge yet.

I want to modify a Fridge to make a fermentation chamber for my beer.
This means I need to achieve substantially warmer temperatures than the maximum of about 40 Degrees that most fridge controls allow.
I need a range from 70 down to 40 F.
And I need precise control.

I can get a thermal control module that will let me have very sensitive control form Johnson Controls and Ranco.
The way they operate is by acting as an on/ off switch in response to a microprocessor driven by either a thermocouple or whatever sensing mechanism they use. Install the temp probe, wire the module in the pig tail that drives the fridge and crank the Fridge's internal control to coldest setting. The compressor pump in the fridge will only answer to the thermal control that controls the power in to the Fridge.

It's crude but effective.

I would like to do this VIA the Fridge's internal controls.

Most inexpensive fridges have only one compressor and one expansion coil and one chilling coil. The freezer vents cold air to the fridge VIA a duct and a valve and the fridge control is VIA that air transfer.

I'd like to figure a way to access that interface.

The reason I want to u undertake this is because I'd like to maintain the function of the freezer.
A place to store my hops would be nice.

The best I can find is a universal control 3030-505, or GC505, will regulate between down to 49 degrees.
