Hi, I've searched and found similar problem posts, but they don't all have the same diagnosis, so I thought I'd post my exact model and hope someone can help! My GE gas oven turns on numerous times a day. It runs for a few minutes then turns back off. I'm not sure if I should replace the thermostat or control panel. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Most likely the problem is a bad control board. If you do need the correct part number, post the complete model number of the range and the color of the key pad.

Thank you for the response. There is no key pad, it is just a knob for the oven and stovetop controls. Would this still be the same diagnosis? Thanks!

Gene. I did ask for the key pad color because the overlay (key pad) has to be replaced together with the control board. Gene.
