I have checked the refrigerator for leaks, cracks in the door liners, cleaned the condensate tray and the hose to it. The refrigerator has been cleaned and deorderized twice and it really smells like rotten food when running. The refrigerator is cooling and freezing properly. What else can I check?

Hi,
Did you use bleach to clean the pan and drain hose?

Remove the evaporator coil cover and check in there.
You said it smells when running, does that mean when it is not running there is no smell?
Have you checked around the compressor especially if you have mouse problems.
If all else fails try this, I stole it from another regular poster on this forum. Wife used it when my son-in-law left some fish in the freezer at the cabin in the middle of winter was not pleasant when she went out in the spring. Spread some ground coffee on a baking sheet in the freezer worked like a charm. |
