WE BOUGHT AN NEW SIDE BY SIDE FRIDGE FOR THE HOUSE, SO i MOVED THIS ONE TO THE GRAGE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. wORKED FINE AND ONE DAY IT JUST QUIT COOLING AND FREEZING. THE FAN IN THE BACK SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE. ANY SUGGESTIONS. THANKS KEVIN

Hi gunner_guy26 The first thing I would do is remove the cover on the back of the fridge and check if the compressor is running. If it's not, then it could be the start device (#15 on the unit break down diagram). Remove the power from the fridge, pull out the start device from the compressor and shake it. If you can hear something inside is moving, replace the start device. - The part number for the new start device AP3961332 - Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool refrigerator Model ET1MTKXKQ00Good luck. Thak you very much for the reply Gene,... I pulled out the start device and it was rattling. I will order the starter and go from there. Thank you for your help and I will keep you updated wit the results.

Tonight I arrived home to a pool of water on the floor and my 2003 Kitchen Aid side by side the freezer was no longer frozen. After further inspection it appears that my fridge side as well might not be working. It seems that the fan is still working something is blowing air out of the lower part of the front side of the machine. Please help I would rather not lose all of the food on the fridge side. Thanks

my fridge and freezer are not cooling/freezing properly, but most parts that could malfunction and cause this problem seem to be in working order(i.e) compressor, defrost timer, defrost heater. Is there anyother ways this problem may occur?

Can you be more specific on the problem? What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Same issue as the previous post, all the usual pieces that break seem to be working. Had a repairman look at it yesterday, he checked the compressor, cleaned around the cooling vanes, fans are working. He swapped out the defrost timer after saying it was bad. Did not fix the problem. There is cold air coming out of the vent in the back of the freezer, but it is not cold enough to freeze the ice in the dispenser and very little (if any) cold air is getting down to the fridge (slightly less than room temp). Lights go on and off normally, the seals are good, the fans are blowing, but it just doesn't get cold.

:confused: my fregedaire electolux model ffu14fc4cw2 is not frezzer and ervinteng is working( normal ) .freezing properly is not please help

Thank you Gene. I received a warning sign something was going out when stuff was getting soft and we thought the freezer door was left cracked open. A month later everything melted and the freezer stopped. I gave up finding the solution until I read your post. I removed the starter device and gave it the shake test. It rattled a lot, so I replaced the part. All is well and working again. Thanks again.
