Sorry, I was giving you the serial #. The model # is JE1660WA 003. Does this help?
Thank you! Claudia:)

With the correct model number it's much easier. Remove the top grill and open the control panel. The switches are on the left side, mounted on the frame (#26 on the diagram). Most likely the problem is a bad bottom switch. You can use the OEM switch or the after market switch I posted earlier. - The GE switch Part number: AP2024337

I have a GE Profile JTP95BA1. A couple months ago, it started having a failure symptom. Whenever I opened the door, the turn table motor was not off, but continuous rotated. This week, whenever I press “start”, it will have NO heat at all if the tray not rotated, but OK if the tray rotated. Please help me to pinpoint the failed component to fix it. Thanks,
JTran

JTran, Most likely the problem is a bad microwave control board. I would also check the door switches. - The control panel assembly Part number: AP2030075

Hi Gene,
Once again thank you for your advices. I checked the relays on the control board. They are ok. I checked the switches of the interlock and found out the main switch broken. Actually all switches are the same. They just cut the un-used connector fordifferent configuration of normal-open(N.O.) or normal-closed(N.C.)
Regards, JTran

They are not exactly the same even if it looks like. Two interlock switches are NO and the monitor switch is NC.

Having the same problem with a GE jvm1640wb002. What part do I replace and any tips on how to do it? Also, I can live with this since I'm in the planning stages of redoing the kitchen, if this poses no health risk, i.e. it's just running the fan and TT, and not emitting MV, is this true?

Quote:...it's just running the fan and TT, and not emitting MV, is this true?... You can not be sure about it. It's better to keep the microwave unplugged until it's fixed. Quote:... Thxs Gene. I ordered the switch and did the old tin foil test to verify if the MV was emitting microwaves while this was happening and it appears that it is not.
