My washing machine won't spin or agitate - I took the front panel off and this is what I can see -

The belt is moving (or sometimes, trying to move)

There is black 'fuzzy stuff' directly around the front pulley thingy, like maybe something is shredding the belt? Belt fur? :-D

I just had this belt replaced and am wondering if maybe they didn't use the correct belt.

Help please with sugar?

Yep, that black furry stuff is likely your belt in the process of shredding.

Take it off and see run the machine on spin and see if the motor turns ok. Then unplug it and see if the pulley turns ok.

If all is ok, they probably put the belt on wrong, or it was a defective belt to begin with (the likely problem)

If you need more advice please post the results of what you find out and your full model number.

Thank you sidfink.

I had the belt replaced about 7 or 8 months ago and remember clearly that the guy said he was having trouble finding the correct part (belt). I'm now thinking maybe he never did. ;-)

Happy Turkey Day!
