I watched the link and none of those machines have a retainer spring in the cam. If you pullup this part number it show the retainer spring #ps334655 agitator repair kit for kenmore #11023014100 that retainerspring is keeping me from getting to the agitator mounting bolt it's suppose a 5/16 but it's too large. I just need to know what size socket to use that will fit down in that retainerspring appicate your help

Ok, this is weird but maybe I am starting to understand, which is not your fault.

It sounds like you are saying the the spring is above the bolt head, which if that is the case is not supposed to happen. If that is the case, either someone else who worked on the machine put it on wrong, or it was put on wrong at the factory.

If this is the case you are somehow going to have to pull or push that spring out the way so you can get a socket on the bolt head. If you have been trying to go through the spring I can see your problem. The bolt head should be 7/16" and with the spring out of the way you should have not problem.

See this picture for an exploded view.

Do you have the agitator out of the machine? If so, it should just pull apart.

If not, becauseyou cannot get a socket on the bolt regardless of size, then I can only say you have to somehow clear a way to do so.

As I said, it sounds like you are dealing with something that is not the way the machine was assembled.
