Hello, I have a Kenmore Elite refrigerator that has started freezing. I have narrowed the problem down to thermistor, air baffle door not closing, or main board. The baffle door moves freely by hand.
I am trying to put the refrigerator into diagnostics mode. I don't have any manuals, so I am guessing. I found a similar issue here, and the docs posted said to press the power and reset buttons. When I do this, I see a 1in the freezer temp and a 'P' in the refrigerator display. press the filter reset button and hear the beep to go to the next component, but the display does not change.
Questions: What does the 'P' indicate? Why does it not go through the components when I press the reset button? does anyone have the diagnostic process for the 106.74206400 model Kenmore elite? How can I test the thermistors? Where are the actual thermistors located? How do you test the baffle door?
Thanks!!

OK, Quick update. It tuns out that by trial and error, I found that using the Freezer temperature control, I can cycle through the diagnostics. The 'P' must stand for pass. I'm assuming that diagnostic 5 is the baffle. It said pass, but it also should have been opening and closing which it was not.
I pulled the baffle and plugged it directly to AC 120 power to see if the motor turned. It did not. I am going to make a 75.00 guess that it is the baffle and motor.
I would still like to see the diagnostic guide for this model if anyone has them.
IF you have any additional inputs please let me know.
