Hello

I have a maytag dryer model MDE9606AYW. It has been making a squeaking sound for a while, then the other day it stopped working. I could force it on by pushing the ON button and holding it for a couple of seconds and it would run for about 20 seconds then stop.
It also has a rattling noise when running.
If I let it cool off, it seems to run fine. It will dry a load of clothes before shutting off.
I took the front off and looked at the belt, it seems fine. I also looked around inside but don't really know what I'm looking for. I held in the door switch and turned it on but could not locate the squeaking noise. It wasn't too dirty (lint) inside but I cleaned it out anyway.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I took it apart again, checked everything you said to and it seems fine. Blower wheel turns good and smooth. Front glides are fine also.

So, I pulled the drum and took my compressor and blew the whole compartment out, thinking maybe lint build up was making the motor heat up. I spent about 30-45 minutes and blew dust and lint off and out of everything thoroughly. Very thoroughly.

I did notice that one of the rear support rollers was loose, probably bearings, but it makes no noise when running now. Put it all back together, made sure the belt was right and fired it up. It seemed to work fine for a while,(5 minutes or so) so I threw in a load of clothes to dry. It ran for about 10 minutes and shut off. I tried to restart it later but smelled something burning so I just unplugged it.
I know the rear roller needs to be replaced but can't convince myself that's the whole problem. Maybe I'm wrong.
