Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 11/12/2009(UTC) Posts: 2		Have a GE tps24bpdabs model side-by-side fridge. Fridge was way too cold (freezing things on top shelf) for months. Suddenly, fridge is warm and it seems there is no cold air coming in. Freezer still working. Looks like there is a vent from freezer to fridge where air comes in, but can't feel any cold air getting in. Is there a fan in there? The cold control seems mechanical only in that it opens and closes the vent, but isn't linked electrically to anything. Even if I open the vent, very little cold air gets in. Could it be suddenly frozen between the two compartments? Is there a thermostat elswhere?

The evaporator fan in the freezer must be running to get cold air circulation, Also the grill Item 434 in Section 5 must not be blocked by anything

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 11/12/2009(UTC) Posts: 2		The freezer fan is running and the freezer is cold. the vent from the freezer to the refrigerator is open, but no cold air is being pushed in. If I open and close the freezer door, I can feel cold air getting pushed into the fridge through the vent, though. The return vents are patent and nothing is blocking them. How is it that no cold air is being pushed in through the vent?

One thing you may want to do is take a look at your evaporator coils to see if they are heavily iced/frosted over perhaps you have a defrost problem. It often shows up as a problem in the fresh food before the freezer. The fan then would not be able to pull the air through the coils so it will not cool properly.
