Hi, I have a frigidaire side by side. The ice maker is acting up. It gets water to the mold. The ice freezes. Then the ejecting arms move the ice up but the ice gets stuck at the top and does not fall and then the process does not start over again. Sometimes (maybe once a day) it will do a full cycle. Otherwise I have to stick my hand in there and knock the ice down so that the next cycle starts. Any ideas? Appreciate the help. Thank you!

Hello

I am contacting you from Frigidaire concerning the problem you are experiencing with the ice maker. The water filter maybe the problem, the water filter should be replaced every 3 to 6 months... if the filter is not the problem the ice maker may need replacing.

How much does it usually cost to replace the ice maker? I tried to find another one online and all I kept finding were the parts/pieces, but not the actual entire ice maker. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Gene. So would it really be as simple as a water filter? That seems silly to me, but then again, I'm not the tech. :)

I am pretty handy. Is the ice maker fairly simple to disconnect the old one and put the new one in?

Thanks for your help.

Bonnie,

At this point I do not think it has something to do with the water filter, even it has to be replaced on the regular basis.

What is the exact temperature in the freezer?

Gene.

Hi again Gene,

Right now I am at 6 degrees. I think it might still be dropping though. What is the recommended temperature?
