I have a upright freezer, the freezer was not cooling, the only thing working was the fan.
I turned it off for 5 hrs and turned it back on and now it only has fan. I checked it out and looked for ovious issues but nothing. I noticed this am that the fan wasnt working now either.

Any thoughts?

Could not find a tech sheet for a GW0 so the following is for a GW6

Did you check that the defrost coils were fairly clear of Ice/frost build up?
I assume there was no clicking of the compressor and compressor was not running.
Did you try moving the temperature control/thermostat from one end to the other?

Could be the unit is in a defrost cycle.
Try turning the cam on the defrost timer (Item 23 in Section 4) to see if the compressor and fan will come on. Note it only turns in one direction.

Yes I dont hear the compressor kick in, I turned the temp from low to high and no change. The fan is all that spins.

I had it unplugged for 5-6 hrs prob longer actually. Plugged it back in and nothing but the fan

Sorry I screwed up the link to the parts, here it is
Replacement parts for FRIGIDAIRE MFU17F3GW0 | AppliancePartsPros.com

Looks like the fan is wired in parallel with the compressor so when it is on the compressor should be on.

You could check that there is power at the compressor.

Remove the start relay and overload protector and check them.
One easy check is if they rattle they are no good.
Also check the compressor windings.

Be sure to unplug the unit when doing this

Here are couple good sites with help on troubleshooting and how to check the parts.
