Gas dryer has been working great for years, then last week started acting up. All dryer functions work except for intermittent heat. I took apart dryer for a complete yearly cleaning, and found no noticable problems. When the dryer starts, you get the initial glow from the igniter, and the gas ignites, and all seems to go good. Then for no reason at all the flame will go out, then it will try to re-lite. The igniter glows again, and then sometimes it will lite, and other times it will not?

If anyone has any suggestions as to what to check or replace please let me know. I cannot afford to purchase a new dryer for our family at this time, and w/ two young kids, we seem to do alot of laundry.

Thanks!

It definetly sounds like the secondary coil on the gas valve is bad. It is a cheap, and easy repair. Replace both coils, and that should do it. Tom ApplianceEducator.com - Parts

Thanks I found this post the other day with the exact same problem my Estate gas dryer was having. Saved myself $500 on a new dryer.
