The lever that turns the light on and off when you open and close the dryer door is broken (it is very loose compared to not being very loose before). If I 'jiggle it the light will go on and off intermittently. I think this is also the reason my dryer will not work when the "Start" button is pushed (probably thinks the door is 'open and does not allow the dryer to start).
Per this particular make and model (Whirlpool Space Saver, LT7100XVW0) how do I take it apart to get to the section of the dryer door area to reposition or replace that dryer door switch/lever?
Thank you.

My goodness, this is the most detailed manual I have ever read. Not only does it give you the basic unpacking and setting up instructions, it also shows how to open up the washer and dryer to get to the basic areas that may need servicing. I will also get the part you suggested.
Thank you oh so much, now I can sleep at night!

Hi, I also have a broken dryer door switch but in the washer/dryer combo version of lt7100xvw0. Can you point me to the correct replacement switch part and more importantly how to get to it? I have tried several times but can't find a good way to access it. Thanks!
