Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 10/26/2009(UTC) Posts: 1		storm last night and lightening hit house causing power surges tripping some breakers. everything ok except since then frig on fritz. side-by-side frigidaire, power on but freezer not cooling and frig side not cooling as much as before. breakers for appliance were never tripped, house never lost power completely; turned temp on freezer to see if would work if made it colder to no avail. ideas? get somebody to take a look? thx

I can probably find the tech sheet for this unit for you but I need the last digit. power on but freezer not cooling and frig side not cooling as much as before. Is the unit empty or is there still food or ice cubes in the freezer because the fresh food side gets it's cooling from the freezer. Note the freezer can take quite awhile to reach it's correct temperature. Check if the compressor is running, it will be warm and you should be able to feel it vibrating. If not it could be your start relay blew or the compressor itself.
