Our Whirlpool top load washer got stuck in the wash cycle. The timer does not move. When I move it manually it moves to the next cycle but does not move on its own.

Since everything mechanical about the machine works I would replace the timer. Here it is, and fortunately it is not expensive. Part number: AP3738284
