This d/w seems to be designed poorly with regard to the soap dispenser. It's situated so high on the door, it does not seem to open far enough to let all the soap out. It's blocked by the upper rack, I think. Is there a fix for this?
Is the rubber gasket on the dispenser door available separately? I can't find just that piece anywhere. I thought I might try replacing it and see if that's my problem.
Any suggestions?

Per the " Use and Care" manual (page 7) "It is normal for the cover to open partially when dispensing detergent" which means it's not broken, just design poorly. Do not use any gel or liquid detergents - it will the problem even worse. Gene.

I can't believe they would place the dispenser door in front of the upper rack like this. The door can just barely open, if at all. How many dishwashers have they built??? And this doesn't occur to someone?
Looks like I'm going to need to come up with a gasket replacement somehow and possibly trim a little of the upper rack away or sort of crush the first coil of it back a little bit. Just 1/2 an inch or maybe a little more should get enough clearance.
