My washer makes a sort of squeal on the spin cycle, and seems like it starts the cycle rather slowly. I observed the transmission starting to spin rather slowly, then saw water being flung off of the top of it, but can't see where it's coming from exactly. Also, after a short time, it sounds like it's sqealing. I can see calcium deposits around the triangular bearing assembly above the transmission. What could it be?? Recently, I replaced the motor, pump and belt (twice).

Most likely the problem is bad bearing and central seal. You have to order and install the hub & seal assembly to fix it. It comes with the installation instructions. - The hub & seal assembly Part number: AP4253876

Since the parts are $100+, how would I check to be sure this is what it is?? Originally Posted by: Gene Most likely the problem is bad bearing and central seal. Won't I need the main bearing also? This is where the calcium deposits are. What else will I need? I read in the manual about a seal tool and silicone grease.

All needed parts can be determined only after the washer would be taken apart.
The installation instructions for the bearing and seal kit contents all information about needed tools and miscellaneous. Call Adam from the APP customer service (877-477-7278, ext. 2051) and he will provide a copy of this instructions to you.
Gene.

The bearing would also be the cause of moderate shaking also wouldn't it? I will give Adam a call in the morning about any related items needed.
