Any help would be appreciated. The refrigerator makes a very loud humming noise at the compressor. You can hear the relay click after about 20 to 30 seconds, but the compressor does not come on. After this happening, 3 or 4 times, sometimes less, sometimes more, the compressor comes on. I am taking a guess that it is the relay. Could it be something else?

Most likely the problem is there.

Also check the compressor for overheating. If it's too hot - turn the fridge off for a few hours to cool down the compressor.

Check the condenser fan motor and clean the condenser coil.

- The part number for the starter is AP3837323

- The part number for the capacitor is AP3267242

Gene.

Hi Gene,
I have a similar problem. Loud noise after turning on the thermostat, after about 60 seconds.

The compressor fan on the outside of the house, was not turning.

We pulled the "fan relay"(?), got a replacement... and my partner is unavailable to reconnect the wires. I did not see him take it off, and the weather is warm and humid.

Can someone tell me where to put the new wires?

A diagram would be helpful with color coding.

Thanks,
MoJo
