I recently replaced my transmission in the Maytag MAV6000AWW Atlantis washer. The good news is when I tested it the agitate and spin worked fine. The bad news is when I lifted the lid on the spin cycle the whole outer tub spun some since I had not reattached the springs, and broke off the little plastic nipple on the clear plastic thing glued to the back of the outer tub. I think this is what tells the washer that the water level is at a certain place. Can I replace the clear plastic thing or do I need a whole new outer tub? Or is there some way to rig it, like with a hollow screw that I can put the tube around after screwing it into the plastic?
Also, since my transmission is brand new, do I need to add oil to it? My old one leaked out some oil out the one screw on the very top when I disassembled it.
Another thing. When I put the springs back on earlier today, the tub looks like it's not aligned proplerly, maybe about 20 degrees too clockwise from where it should be. I have the service manual but there are no drawings to indicate where the springs attach so maybe I put them in the wrong place or something simple? Does anyone have a drawing or photo of the proper spring config? I did align the metal indentation with the large tab on the outer tub when I was reassembling that, but other than that I don't remember any instructions telling me to align something else.
