I have removed both snaprings on front and rear bearings, also removed front bearing seal. The center of the bearings are out. I have been pounding on the races with a punch and hammer but they will not move. Can you give me any advise? Thank you, Lyle

Maytag did not build this in a manner to be serviced, but one reply on this site recommended this site. I cannot say anything about it as I have not used it but here it is for your reference. NEPTUNE BEARING

I made three videos that address this problem on Youtube. You have to use an air cutoff tool with the small cutting wheel to "chew" the bearing race out of the housing - believe me it works! It takes a lot of patience and you have to be especially careful not to cut into the housing. It's really the only way to remove a corroded bearing race. I think my video is titled "Maytag Neptune Bearing Race Cheat". My user name is "aboonski" on youtube in case you cannot locate the video. "Everything has to be cheated" is my motto! Forget the "Tony Tool" once the bearing has come apart because it only works when the bearings are "intact".
