I had the common clicking noise problem with my SxS refrigerator last week. I took the start relay and overload out and sure enough it was cooked. So I went and bought the replacement kit and everything was great again. Two days later now, I have the same problem. The start relay is shot.

Was the replacement kit I bought defective? Or do I have some other problem? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

check to make sure your exact DOP .. ( if it is 5 years or younger , keep your fingers crossed, your compressor could be covered under warranty ... ) if not you could by the appropriate hard start kit for your compressor, which is more robust than the standard relay / clixon ... but at some point, unless incoming voltage is not proper, you more than likely have a bad compressor ...
