Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 10/6/2009(UTC) Posts: 7		I have installed a new ignitor on a Whirlpool gas oven SF375PEWN3 twice and each time it ignited and burned out immediately. I have checked the voltage and it is alright. The broiler works just fine. I have just tried a 3rd ignitor and it started to do the same thing before I disconnected it.

Post the results. Gene. What is the part number of the igniter you installed?

In such case power to the igniter would not go through the gas safety valve. Eliminate the wire which goes from the igniter to the gas safety valve and use a new, preferably hi temperature insulated, wire to connect the igniter to the gas safety valve. It should solve the problem. Gene.

There is a bi-metal inside the gas valve which shows close to 0 Ohms resistance. It is normal unless it's sorted to the ground. Have you checked that wire? Gene.
