Looks like the screws that hold in kick panel on the front of the dishwasher were screwed in too far at some point in the past and penetrated the inside of the tub. When they were recently removed and re-installed, it now leaks. The one screw is pretty rusted.
Any thoughts on way to seal up the inside of the tub again? Not sure when this originally occurred, so I can't imagine any tub warranty would cover it.
My two thoughts were: 1) Some form of sealer over the hole on the inside. Perhaps a silicone sealer?
2) Saw a suggestion here for inserting a bolt with rubber washer through the hole and then potentially sealing over the bolt.
Thanks, Chris

The tub in a ten year old, but otherwise fine, KitchenAid dishwasher has develope a hair-line crack and leak. A possible fix is to seal it with a silicon epoxy such as that described at http://www.********************...Silicone-Sealant/1065754 which is supposed designed to seal cracks in dishwasher racks. Most all silicon sealants initially give off a strong smell when first applied. QUESTION.. Should any residue of the sealant get on the eating utensiles run through the dishwasher, would it be toxic?
