My amana stove igniters are shorting out and sparking/igniting when the stove is off or when one burner is being lite.

I have inspected it and assume it is the electric hand control units which are all on one harness.(part# 31962001) Is this a good solution to this problem?

Thanks,
Gabe in Oakland, CA

Hi Gabe,

One of the most common cause of such problem is a moister or a liquid inside one of the ignition switches, created a shot. Usually it stops after the switch drys. Did you use any cleaning spray around the control area prior to it happened? Did you spill any liquid?

In order it would not stop by itself I need the complete model number of the unit for further assistance.

Gene.
