I have a GE dishwasher, Model# GLD6560L00SS, which is about 4 years old now and moderate usage.

Since last week I started to see that it does not drain the water in the tub anymore. I checked online and saw couple of suggestions on what might be going wrong. So far I have tried the following:

1. I do not have a air gap installed. Instead the drain hose out of the DW it first goes to the highest point under the frame before coming down and connecting to the garbage disposal. I checked the height requirements - 32inch etc. and they are okay.

2. I checked the drain hose for any dirt, tried even blowing into it from where it connects to the garbage disposal and I think that the drain hose is clear.

3. The garbage disposal itself is clear as well.

4. the drain hose does not have the plug in it at the garbage disposal connection. (it could not have worked for last 4 years..)

I checked some websites that mentioned about piston and nut assembly problem or check valve problems, but I could not locate where those are on my model.

I am suspecting that the motor that drains the water is not running for whatever reason (gone bad ?)

Please help what might be wrong. Thanks.
