I received this unit from my mother's house and it worked perfectly there, it was in her kitchen. I took it to my house to put in my garage and plugged it in. It seems that it is not getting cold now. The freezer is blowing and you can hear it running but i have had freeze pops in there and they are not freezing. Could ther be a voltage mismatch between kitchen outlets and garage outlets?

Could be but That would not explain your problem. If the garage voltage was low I would expect the compressor to overheat and it would be clicking on/off.

Check that the compressor is working could be just a wire has come loose.

Check that the evaporator fan is running. This is the one in the freezer compartment.

it's definitely not clicking on and off, I checked the fan behind the unit at the bottom and i could not see any loose wires, also the fan is running down there and i can see the evaperator tube dripping a little. i did not take the cover off the fan on the inside of the freezer to check there but the fan there is running and pumping air. My neighbor suggested that it may need a freon charge. Would this be the case? this unit seems to be running just not cold.

Remove the cover so you can see the evaporator coils if they are just cooling (often just this area has frost) where the freon enters the evaporator then odds are high that you have low freon.

If you have no cooling at all on the evaporator coils and since the compressor is running you are either right out of freon or the compressor is toast.

Either way it is a fairly expensive fix.

Also did you bring it home in an upright position and did you leave it 24 hours before plugging it in. If it was moved on its side then you may have oil in the lines. If this is the case unplug it for at least 24 hours and then give it a try.
