This is a sealed gas range. The two rear burners work great. The large front left flame is much lower than the right rear large burner. The right front small burner only flames when the spark is lit---it pulses with the spark but won't stay lit. I then smell gas.

All caps are on properly. All burners spark when I light each burner. All igniters are clean and dry---no liquid, no grease.

Any thoughts? I'd appreciate the help.

Did someone try to raise the top? If they did they probably broke the small lines going from the gas valves to the burners. You must remove the burners and then the screws below them in order to raise the top and inspect the lines. I have seen corrosion eat a hole in them lines. They are not very expensive.

Thanks for the response. The top hasn't been lifted or moved. Is it possible the electronic switches that control the flame are bad?

Yes. Get a stiff brush and remove any crap from around the igniter. If it cannot get a good ground it won't ak right.
A quicktime movie: all about them burner igniters

Thank you sublime master. I had made sure the igniters, caps, grooves, and burner surrounds were clean and dry. There hasn't been any crud around them and all the igniters light.

I can access the switches under the burner control knobs. The leads are all tight, and there is no obvious burn or wear marks. Would those switches cause a limited gas flow to the burner if they were bad or on their way out.

By the way, great photo of the cats on your site.

NOPE the switch's only ignite the gas and have nothing to do with the flow of gas

Hey sublime master,

After scratching my noggin a bit I got to thinking again about your suggestion to clean the burners of crud with a stiff wire brush. There was no crud on the outside of the burner jet or directly under the caps, so I took off the caps again, looked down into the burner, and took a thin wire to see if it would fit in what a thought was a narrow gas jet.

After inserting the wire a bunch of junk fell out of the gas openings, and I see that both openings aren't narrow gas jets but pretty sizable holes for gas flow. Thanks to you both burners are working like a charm.

Thanks man, and if you ever get to Minnesota I owe you a beer, or many.
