After 6 years of flawless operation, our KitchenAid dishwasher's degergent door stopped opening this weekend. I checked for anything simple like a stickly door release latch, lumpy dishwasher soap. That doesn't seem to be the problem. I am guessing a faulty dispenser door solenoid but before I start taking the thing apart, I and asking the forum for the most likely failures with this type of problem.
Any and all info and experiences are really appreciated. I'd rather learn from your experiences rather than me stumble down the wrong path and make things worse.
ARGH! This is my first post and I got the model number wrong and can't figure out how to edit the model number. IT is model KUDP01ILBL3 (I transposed the D and P on the original info. Sorry for the error.

Try to run the diags to see if it opens.
Remove the doors inner cover.
Check to see if dispenser door will open mechanically.
Check that the solenoid has continuity (300 ohms approximately).
Check that the wiring from the control board to the dispenser is OK.
