My maytag dishwasher recently stopped draining. I removed it to see what the problem was and found that the drain pump had been shorted out and rusted due to a crack in the plastic dishwasher body. I bought and installed a new pump. When the power to the dishwasher is turned on and the door is closed the pump will run constantly. It does not matter if the dishwasher is in a cycle or not. When a cycle starts the dishwasher never starts due to this constant draining. I have tried connecting the pump both ways (reversing the colors of the wires) as well as checking the amount of oHm's across the leads. According to the service manual the pump is reading the correct amount (~25oHm). Outside of the control board no longer functioning I don't know what could be causing this. Any information on similar experiances or ideas would be welcome. Thank you.

Could be when the old pump shorted out it welded the contact together on the relay that controls the motor.

Not really.
Cannot get actual schematics of the boards so they are replacement items.

If you need a comparison search the web for semiconductor replacement guide. The websites from NTE and ECG are pretty good. I have an old ECG book but the websites have a lot more information and better cross referencing.
