my whirlpool dryer won't stop running I all ready replaced a timer switch and it still does the same thing

i took the top off and saw that the resistor connected thru the orange wire had gotten hot and just fell apart when i touched it would that have anything to do with it

I don't think so but I don't have a wiring diagram for your model, but you should replace it first before you do anything else.

Here is a wiring diagram for an EQ2, it is probably the same as an EQ3.

The resistor can cause your problem in Auto Dry modes.
Note that in timed dry modes it should advance and shut off.

In Timed Dry you get power (120 volts) directly from the line.

In auto mode you get power (240 volts) when the heater shuts off (Cycles) and the resistor reduces this to 120 volts so the timer motor does not burn out.

The dryer: DV337AEG/XAC Samsung 6 years old
Problem: the dryer won't stop in sensor mode . for example when its 5 minutes to the end of the session it gives itself a new 1.05 time and continues running. . and for this second time the dryer chooses the high temperature instead of the normal dry. I felt the dryer's temperature has gone up in the timed dry and sensor dry, too.
the technician changed the computer board. but the problem does not solved.
Any suggestion, please? Does the dirty vent makes the cause? Any sensor problem? or wire problem? Thank you for the reply.
