At first I had no cooling or fans (lights and water worked though). When I started to tinker around the internal temperature adjustment plate, at top of fridge compartment, everything started to work. After running 30 minutes I noticed the compressor (I think - spherical component in line with fan) was excessively hot. Doesn't seem right. Dust has been cleared from coils etc. Any ideas? Thanks - Rick

Yes the condenser fan is running. Should the condenser be hot to the touch?

The next time the unit is off give the fan a spin by hand and make sure it is moving freely. Ive had cases where the fan would run but drag just enough where it would keep it from running at full speed, thus not enough air flow.

Ok I will give fan a spin by hand. Any idea what caused fridge to not work for a while. Could it be an intermittent timer or temp control?

It depends on what other items were running at the time it was not cooling. For example if the compressor was not running but the condenser fan and freezer fan were, then the temp control and the timer were working ok.

Thanks for your time on this Glen. I will wait for it to act up again to narrow down the problem. I'm confident it's the termo or timer. - Rick
