I dont know the exact age and there is no" dont know" choice
Looks like tar in the drum and lint trap. I cleaned it all out. What is the possibility of getting a surprise when using it again? Might some tar be hiding waiting for the opportunity to ruin some clothes. I will test using some junk clothes, but I already suspect that it will work fine. My fear is the first time its used for some nice expensive clothes...WAM...u got tar.
advice?

If it is tar then the possibility that it may show up again is fairly high depending how you cleaned it. I am assuming that since it was in the drum and the lint filter there was a lot of it. I would open the unit up, remove the drum and clean it inside and out. Check that the felt seals are clean. Remove and clean under the paddle in the drum.
Also check/clean any other contaminated components. |
