Hi.
I have a Y-2K Jenn-Air Electric Oven, with a gas cooktop. Model#SVD48600.
The other day we finally got the clean mode to work-- didn't realize we had to push the oven door for the lock to engage.
After the cleaning was completed, the F2 error light came on. The fan kept running, and the lock would not disengage.
Eventually the lock disengaged, and the fan shut off. However, the next morning the fan spontaneously came back on, and stayed on until yesterday, mid afternoon.
This morning, the fan spontaneously came back on, and the F2 error came up again. In spite of repeated attempts to click the cancel/off button, the F2 would repeatedly come back on. I eventually unplugged the plug from the power supply, and am now ready to "dig in" to see what I need to fix it.
According to the schematic, the F2 error is an Ohm Sensor. If the resistances do not match, I should either replace the sensor, or the whole relay board. Your helps would be appreciated in my troubleshooting.
1- I am not an electrician, nor do I have am ohm meter, or the money to buy one. I do however understand the basics of electricity, and can read the meter.
2- I can fix about anything else-- major DIY-er.
3- the schematic doesn't say what I should do to check the sensor, or what the sensor specifically is for me to know what I'm specifically checking.
yea, well... I can't know everything...;-)

Ok, a neighbor has an older Micronta Ohmmeter.
(Still looking for an owner's manual for it online.)
Also still don't know what I'm supposed to check the resistance on-- I cannot get the oven to turn on for the recommended temperatures to test the sensor with.
Helps are deeply appreciated.

Pulled the relay board-- smaller of two circuit boards-- and looked it over.
Behind the large orange capacitor(?) there are 6 or 7 resistors. These all appear ok, but the board itself appears slightly scorched at this location-- slightly darker than remainder of board. The rest of the board looks fine-- no darkened spaces.
I checked the resistance for each, and all are but two are over 1000 ohms.
As stated in previous post, I cannot get the oven to come on, so I cannot perform the sensor test recommended on the schematic.
Thoughts are appreciated.

I just wanted to stop in to say thanks for the helps.
Turns out-- for now-- that it was the oven temp sensor.
A simple fix that took longer to pull the oven out of its place than it did to actually replace the sensor, and push the oven back in.
So, again, thank you for the input, and assistance.

My broiler element won't shut off. Is it a relay? I have to cut the breaker switch. Also the clock is not illuminated so I can't see the codes. And one more thing. The down draft fan stopped working, first at one speed then both. Not sure if I would have to replace the fan motor itself or the board. Since the fan won't work the oven won't clean as well. Lot's of problems but still cheaper to fix than to buy a new unit. I wopuld also need the service/repair manual to fix this. Can you help?

Willa Price Here are your parts Replacement parts for JENN-AIR SVD48600B RANGE-S/C S/I GAS & ELEC DUEL FUEL | AppliancePartsPros.comI no longer have a link to the service manual, perhaps someone else will jump in who has one. This is a fairly complicated unit. You have 3 boards in it. The main control board (timer) ($170), a relay board ($275) and a downdraft fan relay board ($100). Prices are approximate. By the sound of it at minimum you need the control board. Maybe also the relay board (the broil relay contacts are probably welded together). This would put the repair price up to $375 minimum. I would not put that many dollars into such an old unit as you are getting close to where these and other parts will become obsolete. You could try disconnecting the control board from the relay board. If the broil element comes on then you know the relay board needs replacing. Just be sure that nothing can short out when you reapply power. If you have to get a pro in because of no manual then it will probably cost a couple hundred more. |

Okay, I got an e-mail from Jeff as to where to buy the Service manual which I have done. Now I just have to wait to get that, I took the front off shere the control, clock boards is and I believe that was bad. When I unhooked both wire harnesses from that, trying one at a time the broiler came on no matter what. Maybe I am not in the right place as is there a control board in the back of the oven? I will wait till I get the manual before I conine to decide which parts I need. As far as I can tell there was a black spot in the corner of the clock display so I will need that clock assembly, is that the control board as well? Not sure. I will keep you posted as to any more questions once I have the manual.

Can you tell me how to get to the downdraft relay board? I think that the clock assembly is what you are referring to as the timer board and the relay board is behind that. If that is not correct please let me know that. Also, the door lock switch is hanging losse and I can't figure out how to get the top of the range off to get to that or another access so I can secure it in place. I have looked for that part and it says that is is no longer available. This is still cheaper than purchasing a new stove at this time as I would have to install a whole new eshaust system or get the same kind of stove and that would be between $2500.00 and $3000.00 and a kitchen guy to alter my cabinets so I am going to fix it.
