I've got a washer dryer combo with a tub support and drum fixture which is broken. I'm looking for the service manual or good advice on repairing it. Do I need any special tools to get to it. i.e. taking the drum off. Does everything come free if I take the bolts out without using pullers and such? Anything too difficult in repairing it?
Any advice would be great!!
Thanks
Dave

Can you locate the broken parts on the diagrams using the references numbers? Here are the breakdown diagrams and replacement parts for the Frigidaire laundry center Model MLCE52RCS1

Gene, Your link didn't seem to work, but one of them from my last post did. It's in the washer drive assembly drawing, number 19. It's the main support for the tub and I believe the tub comes with it. The part number is AP2147323 from the drawing. It's stamped metal and each of the three levelers attach to it. One of the ears is broken. I'm guessing that I take the agitator off, remove the bolt from the top of the shaft and then the drum will come out. I hope it's that easy. Let me know what you think. Dave

Dave,
Sorry for the broken link. It's fixed. The bad news is - this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.

Gene, Bummer about being discontinued. Maybe I can fine one somewhere on the web. I'd hate to throw the machine away. Maybe I can get the piece welded. How easy do you think that the part can be removed?
Do you think I need special tools? Any hot tips?
Thanks again
Dave

There is no manuals for this model, but you probably can use this Service manual even it is for Whirlpool laundry center. They are very similar. Gene.

Gene,
I've taken it apart as much as I can with out a spanner wrench. I see two different flavors of wrenches out there and don't know what type I need. There is a maytag only type and another for GE appliances and others.
The diameter of the nut appears to be around 2.5 inches.
Any suggestions?
I tried to tap it loose with out success.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave, Sorry for the delay. Because this is mostly Whirlpool design, I would probably use the wrench made by Whirlpool. - The spanner wrench Part number: AP3538707
