My dryer will run and the fan blows but it will not heat up. I prefer to make the repairs myself, and have located heating element at a local store. However, they want $90 for the element when I can order the entire element kit for $56 plus shipping on your site.
I also hate to purchase the element if there is something else wrong with the dryer. Any recommendations for self repair before I call a repairman?

It is possible that your heating element is the problem, but first check the other components. You will need a multi-meter, which you can purchase for less than $20.00. It is a great tool to have around the house. First check to see that you have 120v coming to each side of the connection block. Then unplug the dryer and check the thermal fuses/therostat/thermistors. Finally, you can check the heating element for continuity and resistance. See if this service manual fits your model http://www.servicematters.com/m...ibrary/docs/16008714.pdfIf you find the problem you should be able to do the repair yourself.
