Hi, I hope someone can guide me on this repair. Part of the control micro-computer touch pad does not appear to work. The oven part works just fine but the microwave does not. My first thought was that perhaps the touch pad had gone bad so I ordered a new micro-computer control card. I installed it and its still the same; the microwave does not work. There are two fuses that I didn't think to replace but will do so as the next step, one is easily accessible but the other one is not; this is where I need the help! How do I take the microwave front apart so that I can get inside the cabinet to replace the fuse (part # 27 - 4375321). I looked at the installation instructions but they don't seem very clear and don't want to take unnecessary components apart. Is there a repair manual or diagram that shows how to take it apart? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Before we go further I need more specific description on what did you mean "the microwave does not work".

Gene,

The touch pad for the oven works fine and I can do the clock, timer and oven temp. I can start and stop the oven. The touch pad for the microwave lets me punch numbers say for cooking time but when I press the start nothing happens. Also when I open the microwave the light inside does not come on. I don't know if the fuses are bad but I can't think of anything else it could be. I do not know if the touch pad is bad, the fact that I replaced the micro-computer and it does the same thing could be an indication that the pad is also bad. I'm trying different things which are cheaper than replacing the entire unit.

I know there are two fuses; one I can get to when I removed the control panel bracket but the other I need to get inside the microwave box. Unfortunately I don't know how to take the box apart. If you could provide additional pointers I would be willing to try them out. What I don't understand is why the inside light does not work; maybe the fuse
has something to do with it. Thanks!

Hi MDVince,

Check this fuse for continuity. I believe the problem is there.

- The part number for the fuse is AP3010073

Good luck.
Gene.

I replaced the fuse and the microwave light comes on. I am able to enter cooking times and adjust the cook power level but when I press the start button nothing happens. I can hear a beep sound every time I press the start but nothing happens. I also noticed that the interior light now stays on which makes me think that maybe one of the door latches is broken and is not allowing the door close switch to mate which may prevent the microwave form working. I can replace the door switch but how do I get to it? Do I need to take the entire unit out of the wooden cabinets to get to it or is there a way to remove the microwave front without taking the unit out of the cabinet. Thanks for the help.

Vince
