Looking through the access panel, I see the belt is seriously frayed but not broken. It looks like a strip has wound itself up into the tensioner area.
Belt is cheap so I'll try to replace. My question is, how do you get the belt around the drum?
Thanks in advance for any tips.

Thanks in advance for any tips. Has to be done through the front. Top has to be released and swung back. There will be a spring clip a couple inches in from each corner, you'll need to push on with a putty knife/real flat screwdriver/etc, and the top will come loose and swing back. You'll be able to see screws that will need to removed to get the front off at that point. With the top back and front off you should be able to see what you're up against. The below link to the parts breakdown should be able to provide some assistance. Model DE400JDW1

Frank, Your advice was spot on. A couple sheet metal screws on each side and the front was easy to remove and the belt was easy to replace. The dryer seems to work fine but I have a follow up question. When I opened the top I observed a yellow plastic post that was screwed into the middle top of the front panel. I thought it was some type of guide as it seemed to touch the top front edge of the drum. Now that the belt has been replaced, the drum no longer touches the little plastic piece. Oddly, I do not see the piece in the diagrams. Is what I describe indicative of a mistake?

Is what I describe indicative of a mistake? The only thing I can think of is the glide. Not sure I would describe it as a post. The drum does ride on it. I've attached a picture of it below. Sorry I don't know what color it may be. Part number: AP2556880
