When I start the washer, it will fill with water, then it will not start the wash cycle. The timer will continue to go and will go to off, but the wash and spin never start. If I slowly move the inner dial, the wash and or spin cycle sometimes will start. My guess is that it is the timer control but I would like another opinion before I get the part which is part #22001025. Thanks for any help you can give me.

The first thing I would check is the motor overload for continuity (across the W & BK terminals).

If it's open - the motor has to be replaced.

Check for continuity across the Y And BU motor terminals.

If it's open - the motor has to be replaced.

Check for 120V between the Y and BU wires coming to the motor when the timer calls for agitation.

If there is no power, check the wires from the timer to the motor and if there is nothing wrong, then the timer has to be replaced.

- The part number for the motor is AP3720974

- The part number for the timer is AP249818

As I stated in the first note, the wash and spin cycle will work in I move the inner dial and the motor will run through both cycles. Will this elimate the motor overload for continuity option ?? The lid switch works as I have checked that when I could get the wash or spin cycle working by lifting and closing the lid. Does this reply indicate the timer control being bad ??? I have also run the different water levels (small, medium and large) and that is working as the levels have been correct.......Thanks for your help and waiting for your reply before I order the timer control..

In such situation looks like the problem is the timer.
