My seven-year old Thermador SMW272 initially showed what seems to be a fairly common symptom: the display got very dim. Next came a repeated beeping and shortly thereafter it died completely, with no display and no response from any of the buttons. Using advice from the online forums, I've replaced the display and the main power board using this kit: http://www.************.com/Sma...ID=1025865&PPStack=1.

Unfortunately, the oven is still dead, despite the new parts. I've checked and double-checked the wiring of the new board and checked to be sure that it's receiving power.

What else I should try?

firstly, you should make sure that you have 220vac coming to the oven.. then you should check if YOU broke the 4 pin plug on the touch pad ( solder joint is usually cold ) may need to replace touchpad...

Thanks, Jim. Yes, I do have the 220 coming in. The 4-pin jack looks okay, but I'll try freshening the solder connections. Do you know what voltages I should see coming out of the 4-pin plug?

there is a J1 plug that gets 12vdc and then transmits it to the display...
