I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II model LSQ9010KQ0 washer. I have read a number of instructions I found on the internet regarding the replacemet of the dogs. I ordered the parts and have them in hand. I have pulled the agitator assembly out but I can not separate the top from the bottom nor can I pull the cam assembly out. I read that they just pull apart but I have pulled very hard with no sucess.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Charles

No one knows hunh. I guess I will be off to the repair shop sometime today. You know dirty clothes don't stop just because we do.

If someone knows the answer, please let me know.

Thanks

If you took the agitator out then you must have removed the 7/16" bolt, so the two sections do just pull apart.

You have to do it strong enough to get the job done, but gently enough so you don't break anything. It is likely you have a lot of fabric softener junk and other scummy stuff stuck in there.

Sid,

Thanks for the information. I was worried that I would break it. In the end I decided that breaking and having to order a new one, was better than paying a repair man. It finally came apart, just about at the point I figured it was going to break. But it is back together and all I have to do is install it back in the washer.

Thanks again.

Charles
