Recently the drum belt keeps coming off. Do these belts tend to stretch out and would a new one fix this?

The problem can be a bad rear tub bearing. Open the door and check manually if the inner drum is moving up and down, especially in the rear part of it. If it does then the bearing has gone bad. It's sold as a part of the outer tub assembly.

So trying a new belt is a waste of time and money?
