My bake burner will light for a few seconds and then cut off. The broil burner works fine. Tried unplugging for hard reset of electronics, no help. Could it be a bad gas valve?

Remove the Bake burner and check the lighting holes (circled red on the attached picture). If there are only four holes then the Bake burner has to be replaced. If there are eight holes then you have to enlarge them using a drill bit one size bigger. - The Bake burner assembly Part number: AP3598752

I just wanted to make sure I was clear on the problem. When I try to start bake cycle (with everything removed so I can see bake burner) 1 - The igniter sparks 2 - The burner comes on, the igniter stops, and it looks like a normal burn(all holes have flame)for maybe 3 to 4 seconds 3 - I hear a faint sound as the flame goes out. 4 - The preheat timer is still counting down on the unit 5 - The unit may try to re-ignite later during this count down with the same results This happens at all temp settings There is no gas smell after flame goes out So, would lighting holes have an effect on the burner staying lit after the spark finishes?
Thanks

You are welcome. I'm glad to hear you were able to fix it with no cost to you. Thank you for the feedback and good luck with your oven.

Was able to get to the bake assembly. It has 4 holes not the 8. I read that another person who only had the 4 holes drilled 4 more although you said someone with only 4 should buy a new bake assembly.

Thanks for the post that helped me fix my oven. My poor wife was getting frustrated when the Baked Chicken wasn't done (yet again) after 45 minutes in the oven. All indicators showed that the oven was still functioning properly but the chicken was 1/8th of the way done and the kids were hungry!
After following the instructions in the thread to bore the 8 holes with a drill bit the next size higher and putting the oven back together, my 40 minute test run has an oven working great again! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
