This is a Kitchenaid side by side manufactured 5/2000. It dispenses ice, but no water. I have checked the water line from the outlet of the solenoid to the water dispensing tube on the door and was able to blow water out of it so there is nothing blocking the line. I also tried swapping the connectors on the solenoids by placing the water line connector (purple) on the ice solenoid (green). I figured when the water dispensing switch on the door was depressed, the ice solenoid would open, but I did not hear anything. Since the water and ice lines are of different sizes, I cannot swap the downstream lines from the outlet of the solenoids.
I also measured the resistance of the water solenoid (~500 ohms) and ice solenoid (~200 ohms). Does anyone know what this means?
I also tried to measure the voltage at the output of the connector to the water solenoid (when it was disconnected from the solenoid) and the door switch is depressed but there was no voltage.
I initially thought it was the water/ice solenoid, but now think it could be the door switch.
Any help would be appreciated.

Locate the water dispenser solenoid by the 5/16" water tube connected to it. Remove the wires from the solenoid and check for 120 VAC to it while the water lever on the door is depressed and the freezer door is closed. If there is proper voltage then replace the water valve. If the voltage is incorrect then remove the dispenser front panel and check the water dispenser micro switch (#14 on the diagram) for continuity and proper engagement. Check the push button according to the wiring diagram. - The water valve Part number: AP3040697

Gene,
Thank you very much for the schematic. I fixed it. It was simply a broken wire at the bottom of the freezer door. I found it after checking the micro switch and realizing that no power was getting to it.
So now the water works, but the flow rate is about half of what is used to be. Any ideas? I had disassembled the isolation valves controlled by the solenoids - perhaps the water valve is not opening fully?

Dan, How old is the water filter? It has to be replaced every six months. - The water filter Part number: AP3182816

Gene,
Yes, I removed the filter and still have the same issue. I am getting ready to replace the filter soon, the indicator just turned yellow, but the filter does not appear to be the issue.

If you have disconnected any water line parts for the troubleshooting then you have to remove a few gallons of water from the system to get rid of air. Also make sure all water shut off valves are completely open.
