The topload GE washer will not turn on. Have power to the wiring harness on the control board. No burnt electrical smell. Can I jumper the lid lock wires to see if that is the issue? How expensive are the control boards?

Thanks a lot,

Yes, jumper the lid switch and re-check, post results.

Scraped off some insulation on two leads to lid switch, did not work when hitting start switch. Took apart control unit, noticed a second switch on top of the start (not visible from assembled control panel). Hit it a couple of times then start worked. Water started filling tub, then stopped way short. Had to hit start several times to get it going again. Suspect control module, have quote for $110-$120, wondering if it is worth it. Been seeing a lot of bad things about GE washers lately.
