Need to know if a circuit board with the model number JVM1630WB007 can be replaced with the model number of a microwave--GE JVM1350WW003.

This is why I wondered if the circuit board could be replaced with another model number. We tried to change the lights under the microwave--without unplugging the microwave and it blew something. The fan now runs all the time so we have to cut the microwave off and on from the switch box whenever we need to use it. Someone gave us the same microwave but several years older than ours because they were going to get rid if it. Everything else looks the same except the model numbers are different. Do you still think it won't work. Wanted to find out before I started taking things apart. Thank you for the prompt reply Jimmy T

Before I answered your question I looked up both model numbers on GE website and the part numbers were different. Which means that they are not interchangeable. With that being said I don’t know what the difference is it may be minor and it may be totally different. If you put it on and it works it may be ok but I don’t recommend it. If it knew what the differences in the two parts were I may say different.

Thank you for your reply and looking to see if you could tell the difference. The fan running is the only problem and probably can live with that rather than trying something that might create more problems. Is there a simple way to disconnect the fan? If not will live with it. JimmyT

I believe the vent fan and the fan for the magnetron tube are one in the same on this model so you can’t very well disconnect it.
