Hello,

My whirlpool dryer is taking very long to dry. I now have to set it twice on 70 minutes each (140 minutes) to dry one load of clothes where before that same load was dry in 30 minutes total. I have checked the lint screen and the exhaust vent and all seems fine.

Any suggestions on what part may be failing so that I can repair and get this working again. It has been a great dryer and I really don't need a new one at this point.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you can give me to troubleshoot this problem.

The major reason for long drying times is restricted air flow.

You will need to open up the dryer and check the blower to make sure it is operating correctly and that the internal venting system from the lint screen outward is totally clear of debris.

That should do it.
