We turned the electricity off for a few days until we rented it again, and when we turned it back on, the fridge would not cool ot freeze.

Check the power at the wall outlet? Check the inside switch (if there are any) and make sure you did turn the thermostat "on". Try to find the name plate with the complete model number. Gene.
